	web-accessible archive of the Sephardic oral literature
	collected by Samuel G. Armistead, Joseph H. Silverman and Israel J. Katz in fieldwork conducted
	since 1957. </p>

	  phenomena which use of modern Spanish orthography would

El general, el más desgrasiado que pueda haber en la natura humana, más negro de, ¿cómo se yama?, peor de Turquemada. Una madre, Haná que se yamaba, tenía siete hijos. Y ésta miró [ se corrige ] estos hijos eran varones barraganes. Miró si podía convenserlos que se hisieran idolatos, que dejaran la ley judía y el servimiento judío, todo esto. Empesó a yamar a los hijos. Yamó al primero y le dijo, "Ven y encórbate a mí y yo te va hazzer un comandante, te va hazzer un general, yo te va hazzer un prénsipe, te va hazzer un duque, te va hazzer todo esto". Refuzzó tanto se rió, tanto convesido que no hay nada en eyo y ayí, mataron ... lo mataron. Dijo el general mismo, dise, "Traerme al segundo. Tal ves, viendo que era un hermano que adoró, ya se fue, el segundo se va convenser y se va a encorvar a nos y al ídolo". El segundo también le respondió peor del primero. ¡No tener ninguna confidensa en él o en el ídolo y todo esto!  Enviarlo [ word ] y éste que vaya. Al terser lo mismo, al cuartel lo mismo, al sinsel lo mismo, al sesén lo mismo. Cuando vino al setén, y esta madre está viendo esto todo, esa toda desgrasia. Cuando vino al setén, le dizze, "Ven encórbate a mi ídolo y yo te vo haser el primer prénsipe de mi palasio. Yo te vo a dar todo, todo tesoros y todo lo que desea tu alma", dizze ansí. Saltó el chico, le repondió, "A ti, perro, no me encorbo yo, ni a tu Dios también. Y mi muerte será gran dulsura. "</seg>
